Prices start at £800 for a simple 2 tier cake with basic chocolate decorations and no flowers or macarons between layers. Contact us to discuss your number of guests, decoration choices and the total price you will pay. Consultations and tastings are included in the price and can be arranged in Ashbourne, Derbyshire or your own home after discussion.
Choosing a wedding cake design is such a personal choice. We at Rachel Henley Cakes give you as much input as possible into the design of your ideal chocolate wedding cake. Combinations of handmade chocolate decorations with chocolate flowers or real flowers can set off the dark chocolate mirror glaze of these cakes. Colour schemes can be discussed to tie in with your wedding flowers or coloured macarons between your cake tiers to link with your wedding theme.
A Rachel Henley cake also means a choice of our wonderful flavour combinations. Mousse layers from chocolate to fruit puree mousses all made with natural ingredients. Caramel or praline mousses can be combined with chocolate mousse for a rich decadent cake. All caramel and praline is handmade at Rachel Henley Cakes. As part of the wedding package a consultation will be arranged to discuss all these choices.
We are based in Derbyshire but can deliver to venues across the Midlands and sometimes further. We can contact your venue to discuss delivery and set up of your cake on the day. Delivery is free for a 50 mile radius but may incur a charge after this distance.
Our cakes contain only natural ingredients sourced locally in Derbyshire whenever possible. All eggs and cream for our mousse layers come from a local farm in Duffield and all chocolate used is high quality French or Belgian chocolate. Fresh fruit purees or extract of orange zest are used to flavour mousses and also chocolate ganache that fills our macarons. High quality almonds or hazelnuts are used in the dacquoise cake layers but can be replaced by chocolate cake or genoise sponge cake if allergies require.
At Rachel Henley Cakes we take allergies very seriously and can produce Gluten Free cakes when asked. Being Gluten Free herself Rachel Henley is very aware of cross contamination and its avoidance. Other allergies can sometimes be accommodated too so just ask us via the contact page.
ALLERGENS: NUTS, EGGS, MILK, SOYA lecithin
All ingredients are fresh so once assembled our cakes need to be kept in a fridge until ready to be consumed. This can be arranged with your venue and the cake set up in all its tiered glory once you are ready to cut the cake on the day.
Macarons if required to have colour will have food colouring added. These colours are sourced from France and minimal quantities used. If you wish to avoid these then our chocolate or plain macarons can be used.
